LAUS is a self-taught Portuguese songwriter, producer and DJ of Progressive, Tech House music.
LAUS's musical path started at the age of 10 when he began learning piano.
At 12, he expanded his musical repertoire by studying saxophone, but it was the drums that truly captivated his interest.
By the age of 14, LAUS was learning drums and joined the Orquestra of Ourém as a percussionist.
His passion for music led him to play with several rock bands as a drummer, immersing himself in various musical projects for a decade.
However, in 2018, at the age of 24, he decided to abandon his musical pursuits to follow his professional career abroad.
In 2019, LAUS discovered a new passion for electronic music. He began to appreciate the musicality and complexity behind electronic tracks, although he often felt they lacked catchy melodies.
By July 2022, he found the courage to embark on a self-taught journey of composing and producing electronic music.
After catching some musical maturity, he started investing in some more professional equipment.
In 2023, LAUS experienced a profound spiritual transformation when he encountered CHRIST and was born again in his faith. This newfound spirituality deeply influences his music and life, as he dedicates everything to Him, for Him, and by Him.
The name LAUS, meaning glory and praise in Latin, reflects his journey and commitment to his faith.
LAUS has a unique Progressive House style, characterized by the use of organic beats and a prominent melodic line. His distinctive and innovative approach combines his classical training with the modernity of electronic sounds.
